FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a large group of scouts, students, birthday party, etc.

Can you help us?

We are not offering any private instruction at this time. We are currently asking that scout based programs attend our safety class to meet their scout requirments.

Note: We can only accommodate groups occasionally and only on Saturdays as that is our chartered range time with the city.

Do I have to take the Safety Class first?

Yes, for your safety and everyone else, it is important to complete our safety class so you are aware of the range rules.  Please refer to our CLASSES Page on how to sign up.

Even if I have shot before?

Yes, if you want to participate in the club's classes.  However, if you have your own equipment, you can shoot on the grass field.

Are classes held on any other day?

No, we only offer classes on Saturday.

Can I shoot at the park by myself?

Yes, if you have your own equipment, you can shoot on the targets permanently set up on the grass field during park hours only. The range on the concrete pad and the grass to the right of the restroom building is for Saturday classes only.

Can I rent equipment for my own use?

No, the equipment is only for class use and must be turned back in.

I heard that you have a membership program, can I join?

Before membership is allowed, there is a level of competency in archery you will need to achieve before being asked to join the El Dorado Archers.

Is there a park entrance fee?

Yes, currently, the park charges $8 per car to enter the park in the weekends.

Yearly parking passes  are available at the Nature Center:

  • $65 - Regular

  • $40 - Senior / Disabled / Veterans

Is El Dorado Archers a non-profit organization?

Yes, we have been approved as a Charitable Organization [501(c)(3)] by the IRS.

We can accept tax deductible donations to improve our equipment, facilities and quality of our programs.  We are approved with similar status by the State of California Franchise Tax Board.  Thanks to Patrick McGinnis, Attorney at Law.  Patrick donated his time to form and register our corporation.

Where can I find some general information for the park?

If you are looking for hours for the Archery Range, information regarding general park hours, or general park information, please visit:

What is the difference between El Dorado Archery Range and El Dorado Archers?

El Dorado Archery Range is a public field located within El Dorado Park in Long Beach, California. It's open to anyone with their own archery equipment, following the posted safety rules.

The range operates from dawn till dusk, providing a space for individuals to practice archery at their leisure.

On the other hand, El Dorado Archers is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of archery. We meet once a week on Saturdays at the El Dorado Archery Range, specifically in the East-most area of the range.

For anything else, we check our email regularly and

will get back to you as soon as possible.
